• “Family Fun Hike at Isle a la Cache” – 1 to 2 p.m. Jan. 3, at Isle a la Cache Museum, Romeoville. Hike through the woods along the Des Plaines River with a naturalist. Pause at designated stops for fun wintertime activities. Activities are geared toward 6 to 12 year olds, but the entire family is welcome. Free; all ages. “Living History Encounter" – Noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, Isle a la Cache Museum, Romeoville. Meet Pierre, a French Voyageur from the 1700s, who shares his stories about the fur trade. Our 18th-century Trader’s Cabin will be open with Pierre as your guide. A special focus will be on wool blankets. Free; all ages.
