A Machesney Park man has been charged with threatening to kill his Braidwood girlfriend, according to court records.
About 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, 38-year-old Brent R. Jurry, also known as Brent Jury, was booked into the Will County jail on a charge of harassment through electronic communication.
A warrant was issued for Jurry’s arrest on May 1 after a Braidwood police investigation. The criminal complaint filed against Jurry said he used electronic communication on March 11 and 17 to “threaten to kill” his 44-year-old girlfriend.
Jurry was sentenced to two years in prison on a phone harassment conviction, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections. The crime took place in Winnebago County.
He was admitted to the Robinson Correctional Center on Oct. 4.
On March 12, Jurry’s girlfriend petitioned for a protective order against him that claimed he sent her a text message the day before threatening to “kill everybody that I loved.”
“He said that if he can’t have me, nobody is going to have me. He also said he is going to ruin my life,” she said in the petition.
She also claimed he was going to “call my job” and get her fired.
“He sent a picture of a gun. I told him it was fake and he said it was not,” she said.
She said she is afraid of him “coming to my house and doing something to me or ruining my life.”
