A political action committee focused on advocating for abortion rights in Illinois announced a long list of endorsements in state and local races, including for several Will County area races.

Personal PAC's Board of Directors released its list of endorsed candidates ahead of the Illinois primary election yesterday.

The group said they're working to elect candidates who will keep Illinois a "safe haven for choice in the Midwest." All endorsed candidates were Democrats.

In a Facebook post, Personal PAC said, "Pro-choice voters must turnout in record numbers across Illinois in order to protect reproductive rights from those who are working overtime to prevent every woman from accessing the reproductive health care she needs and deserves."

At the state level, the PAC endorsed State Sen. Micheal Hastings, D-Tinley Park, for reelection in the 19th Senate District and Rep. John Connor, D-Lockport, who is running in the 43rd Senate District.

In races for the Illinois House of Representatives, Personal PAC endorsed Michelle Fadeley running in the 37th District, Dagmara Avelar in the 85th District, Harry Benton in the 97th District, and Natalie Manley in the 98th District.

Personal PAC also endorsed Democrat Nick Palmer in his race to be the next Will County executive.

On its website, Personal PAC said it is the only statewide PAC "dedicated solely to protecting choice." It was founded in 1989.
