The New Lenox Public Library will host an informational meeting for residents to learn more about a ballot question regarding their taxes.

Voters will decide on March 17 to essentially redirect tax revenue from an expiring construction bond rate to the library's operating rate.

Since the library paid off its construction bond last December, it said it can address other needs, but voters must decide to raise the operations tax rate to redirect those funds.

If voters approve the increase, it would not result in a net tax increase for residents, according to the library.

The meeting will take place Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the New Lenox Library, located at 120 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox.

More information about the ballot question can be found at newlenoxlibrary.org/vote.
