The University of St. Francis in Joliet was awarded the 2020-21 Military Friendly School distinction from VIQTORY.
This is the 10th consecutive year that USF has received the designation, according to news release from the university.
Each year, the list of military friendly schools is provided to service members and their families in order to help them select the best institution for the education needed to pursue a civilian career.
“USF maintains the highest standards in our programs and assists veterans in both the admission process and applying for their applicable benefits,” Bruce Foote, USF’s veterans certifying officer, said in the release.
Since 2000, 172 veterans, spouses or dependents have graduated from USF, according to the release. Another 53 veterans, spouses and dependents are currently enrolled in one of USF’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
USF offers a 20% veterans/military discount for its master’s degree program that is available to veterans and active military who have exhausted their Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits and includes spouses of active duty military personnel not eligible for VA benefits.
Colleges earning the military friendly school designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school.
More than 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey, with 625 schools earning the designation from every state in the country.
