It's almost hard to believe, but there’s just so much going on Tuesday. And that’s really where the problem lies.
On the one hand, you have a primary election during the day and election results coming in at night. That’s important. Not only is this a presidential election year, but we have the races for the county executive and the coroner. And even if we didn’t have such vital positions up for grabs, you have to vote anyway, as it is your civic duty.
In addition to Election Day, Tuesday is also St. Patrick’s Day, one of the top three holidays of the year, right up there with Columbus Day and Casimir Pulaski Day when it comes to having fun. There is corned beef and cabbage to eat, and green beer to drink. It might as well be a holy day — and night — of obligation.
On top of all that, Tuesday is the first day of the NCAA Tournament. Sure, maybe it’s just play-in games. But it’s still March Madness! How can you miss that. You can’t. It can’t be missed.
