If you're 18 years or younger, Tap House Grill in Plainfield will give you a free lunch this week – and maybe next week.
No need to register in advance, either.
"You just come by and pick them up," general manager Katie Apple said.
Apple said staff made 100 bags to start and response has been "overwhelming."
Each bag contains a sandwich, an apple and juice. Apple said.
"It's keeping my spirits high, being able to help these kids," Apple said. "We miss our patrons."
Like many area restaurants, Tap House Grill is offering delivery and curbside pickup, in addition to the Uber Eats service it already provides. Patrons may order any item off the menu.
Delivery and curbside pickup is new, but the new process is going smoothly, Apple said.
"It's been great so far," Apple said. "We've had quite a few orders. Call to order and just give payment over the phone, no cash right now."
Tap House Grill is located at 24402 W. Lockport St. in Plainfield.
