Two correctional officers and one incarcerated man at the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The Illinois Department of Public Health made the announcement about the confirmed cases Wednesday via a news release.

The two correctional officers are recovering at home and the incarcerated man is isolated and recovering in the hospital.

Individuals identified as possibly being exposed are being quarantined and the facility is on a 14-day lockdown.

On the same day, the Will County Health Department announced 20 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county. Health department spokesman Steve Brandy said the cases at the prison are not under the county's jurisdiction and therefore do not count toward the number in Will County which as of Wednesday was 50.
