The city of Joliet advises residents take note of information related to the coronavirus, including one restriction on garbage pickup, outlined in the city's quarterly newsletter going out this week.

Waste management has temporarily halted pickup of large bulk household items, white goods and car tires, the city said in a news release issued Wednesday.

Regular garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup will continue.

Waste Management also will continue its At Your Door service for household hazardous waste and electronic recycling.

The city will announce when bulk pickup resumes.

The newsletter also includes information about events and activities that have been canceled or rescheduled because of coronavirus concerns.

Residents with questions can call the city information desk at 815-724-4000.
