Joliet Park District closed its Inwood Golf Course again Friday after the governor changed his mind on allowing golf courses to reopen.
Inwood opened Wednesday after Gov. JB Pritzker exempted golf courses from his stay-at-home order. Pritzker ordered them closed again Thursday night.
Joliet Park District Executive Director Brad Staab said golfers were following coronavirus precautions when they came to the course.
“Everyone was conscious of social distancing, and everyone did their best,” he said.
Inwood was the only facility opened to the public by the park district since March 18. The park district at that time closed all facilities, including parks and outdoor playgrounds, through the end of March. That closing has been extended through April 7 in keeping with the governor’s stay at home order, Staab said.
