The Plainfield Police Department reported that at least six village residents have been stricken with the coronavirus.

"We have received information the number of positive cases of COVID19 that have affected residents in the Village of Plainfield is 6 as of March 27," the police department wrote in a post on its Facebook page.

"Due to HIPAA regulations, we can't provide any other information," the post said. "As we get updated numbers we will update our social media sites."

Friday, the same day the Plainfield police put the total of village coronavirus cases at six, the Will County Health Department said 110 Will County residents had tested positive for the virus.

Four have died from coronavirus in Will County, including a woman in her 90s who was a patient at Symphony Joliet nursing home.
