Two Will County nonprofits are currently seeking donations from the community so they can continue giving their clients the best possible care.
Trinity Services in New Lenox, which supports approximately 600 people with developmental disabilities and mental illness residentially, would like a reserve of nonperishable food.
In a news release from Trinity Serves, the nonprofit said it's willing to purchase nonperishable food items at a reasonable price from local business that had to close due to the current crisis.
Trinity Services is also willing share this reserve with other organizations that provide disability services and local food banks. The nonprofit said it would try to arrange pickup of the items.
The nonprofit will accept donations of nonperishable food, too. Please drop donations off at the front door at the main office, located at 301 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox.
For more information, visit trinityservices.org.
Catholic Charities is also seeking donations to help prepare food boxes for hungry members of the community.
These food boxes are distributed twice weekly and are offered in lieu of the regular Shepherd’s Table (soup kitchen) dining room program.
The following items would be greatly appreciated: food, hygiene items, paper products, (napkins, plates, bowls, cups) and plastic utensils.
Donations will be accepted at Daybreak Center (611 E. Cass Street in Joliet) at the following times: 10 a.m. to noon Monday and Wednesday and 2 to 4 p.m. Friday.
Checks are also accepted. Please mail to Catholic Charities, 16555 Weber Road, Crest Hill, Illinois, 60403.
Or donate online at bit.ly/3aw6Ar0.
In addition, the agency's Amazon Smile wish list has also been updated to reflect its current needs. Purchases from this list will be automatically shipped directly to Daybreak Center.
