Home Depot announced it is hiring 34 people at its Joliet distribution center and has implemented an extra-pay program amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
The company is hiring for part-time and full-time seasonal positions at the distribution center in CenterPoint Intermodal Center-Joliet.
"Home Depot has introduced several temporary benefits including bonuses and double overtime to help alleviate some of the challenges associates may be facing as a result of COVID-19," the company said in a media advisory.
Through April 19, hourly workers in distribution centers and stores who work more than 35 hours a week will be paid an an additional $100 per week, Home Depot said, Those who work 16 to 35 hours per week will receive an additional $50 per week.
Home Depot also is paying double-time to hourly workers for overtime through April 30.
"Job seekers can text JOBS to 52270 and receive a link to apply to hourly positions in their area (message and data rates may apply)," the advisory said. "All interested candidates must complete the 15-minute application online."
