The village of Romeoville will make thousands of dollars in donations to local food pantries.
The village will donate $1,000 each to We Care Pantry, the Romeoville Community Pantry and the DuPage Township Food Pantry, according to a news release.
The village will also donate $2,500 to the Will County Senior Service Grocery Delivery Institute, which has delivered over 1,000 packages to seniors.
"Romeoville is fortunate to have so many groups helping those who are struggling,” Romeoville Mayor John Noak said in the release. “This pandemic has seen a surge of those in need, and these organizations are, in some cases, helping nearly double the number of families than normal. We hope our contributions will assist them in restocking their shelves so they can continue to do important work in our community."
