40th Frankfort Lions Wurst Fest due to coronavirus outbreak

The 40th Frankfort Lions Wurst Fest, which was scheduled for Sept. 3, has been canceled this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Frankfort Lions Club has historically kicked off the fall fest the Thursday prior to the weekend’s festivities for 39 years in order to raise funds for its mission and to serve the community.

The club plans to host the Frankfort Lions Wurst Fest in 2021 if it is suitable for a thousand to gather in The Garden at that time.

The Frankfort Lions Club is thankful to the community and our sponsors for the continued success of the Frankfort Lions Wurst Fest, which celebrates the town’s German Heritage.

Lions are able to deliver food to those in need, host free hearing and vision screenings to children and adults annually, donate to local nonprofits and contribute to families facing hardships.

Since the Frankfort Lions Club believes, “Where there’s a Lion, there’s a need,” it has decided to move forward with a sweepstakes fundraiser this October with respect to the Governor’s Five Phase Plan.

The event committee will continue to meet and organize this future opportunity in order to raise funds and uphold the club’s mission in a safe capacity.
