Officers responded to a shooting in the Cathedral Area in Joliet and found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the foot, police said.
About 7:10 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to Mack near Taylor Street after receiving a report of shots fired, said Joliet police Lt. Christopher Botzum.
The officers were able to determine that a man in a dark-colored vehicle drove up to a residence in the 500 block of Mack Street, left the vehicle and fired his weapon at the residence, Botzum said.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the foot and was taken to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Botzum said. His injuries were not life threatening.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” Botzum said.
