Joliet man dies after suffering multiple gunshot wounds: cops

A Joliet man died after he was shot multiple times at a Joliet residence, police said.

At close to 8 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 200 block of Lincoln Street after receiving a report of a man who was shot outside a residence, according to a Joliet police news release.

Officers arrived and found the 24-year-old man on the porch, police said. The victim was transported to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center.

Police said the victim “unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.”

“This is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages,” Joliet police said in the news release. “The Joliet Police Department Investigations Division is actively looking into what occurred. Joliet police will update the public at a later date when more information becomes available.”

Anyone with information on the incident should call the investigations division with Joliet police at 815-724-3020. If they wish to remain anonymous, they can contact the Will County Crime Stoppers at 800-323-6734 or online at crimestoppersofwillcounty.org.
