A fourth person who was protesting the death of Eric Lurry Sunday was taken into custody after the rally moved from Six Corners to the Joliet Police Department, where demonstrators demanded answers about the arrests of the other three.
Tanya Avila, 31, of Blue Island was arrested on probable cause of obstructing a police officer shortly after 9 p.m.
Avila "entered the roadway, approaching Officers who were trying to assist a motorist out of the area," police said in a statement released Monday.
"Avila was ordered to exit the roadway, and she refused to follow Officers' commands," police said. "Avila was then placed into custody without issue."
