Over the last few months, Thorntons has required its employees and vendors to wear facemasks.
Now Thorntons is requiring customers do the same.
The only exceptions are customers with a medical condition that prevents them from wearing face coverings and children age 5 and or less - except in areas where the age exemption is younger by executive order, according to a news release from Thorntons.
Thorntons will provide disposable facemasks for customers who arrive without one, the release said.
"The CDC and other health experts continue to recommend face coverings, so we believe it is the responsible thing to do to ask all Guests who can, irrespective of local mandates, to join our Team Members and Vendor partners in wearing a face covering," Simon Richards, president and CEO said in the release. ”
Over measures Thorntons has taken in the past view months include the high frequency cleaning of all high touch areas with food safe clears, social distancing, plexiglass shields, contactless payment, self checkout, no refills, some self-serve produces and hand protectors when fueling, the website said
