Will County reports 141 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

Health officials announced 141 new cases of COVID-19 in Will County and two more deaths on Thursday.

The new cases brought the total in the county to 9,013, according to the Will County Health Department. Thursday was the third day in a little over a week in which Will County saw a single-day increase of more than 100 new cases.

The two people who had died from COVID-19 were both men in their 80s. In total, 345 people have died from COVID-19 in Will County.

The Illinois Department of Public Health data shows Region 7 of the state, which includes Will and Kankakee counties, has seen five days of test positivity increases, meaning people are testing positive for the virus at increasingly higher rates.
