Health officials announced 107 new COVID-19 cases in Will County on Friday, another single-day jump of 100 or more.

Like elsewhere in Illinois, COVID-19 cases are on the rise as Will County has reported four single-day increases of 100 or more in a little over a week.

The Will County Health Department reported no new deaths on Friday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,084 new cases throughout the state.

Will County was not named among the counties considered to be at "warning level" for spread of the novel coronavirus. The IDPH considers a county a "warning level" if it doesn't meet two or more metrics showing worsening conditions.

Still, the state designated Will County at "warning" for its rate of new cases because it was reporting more than 50 new cases per 100,000 people.
