Some volunteers send cards, some write letters, some communicate with more than one client, and some of the clients even write back, McCarthy said.
Volunteers supply their own cards and stamps, but they may use JACH’s return address, if they’re uncomfortable giving out their home address, McCarthy said.
Some of the veteran volunteers chose to write to veteran patients, and some of the volunteers also found the project therapeutic since they, in some cases, were also social distancing, McCarthy said.
