The village of Romeoville's Finance Department earned its sixth consecutive Excellence in Financial Reporting Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The Certificate of Achievement was in recognition of the village's comprehensive annual financial reports for the fiscal year that ended on April 30, 2019, according to a news release.
“Our Finance Department continues to do fantastic work,” Romeoville Mayor John Noak said in the release. “They have set a high standard for the community and they continue to meet it.”
The association judged the village on standards like demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure."
The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting.
