A Gardner man died after he was involved in a car collision in Monee Township.
On Tuesday, the Will County Coroner’s Office said in a news release that Charles Butcher, 69, was pronounced deceased at 7:33 p.m. Monday near the intersection of South Kuersten and West Pauling roads in Monee Township.
“Mr. Butcher was the driver of a vehicle that collided with another vehicle,” coroner officials said.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday and a preliminary cause showed Butcher suffered multiple injuries because of the car collision, according to the coroner’s office.
The final cause and manner of Butcher’s death will be determined at a later date pending the outcome of police, autopsy and toxicological reports.
