A driver was hospitalized with minor injuries after veering across several lanes on Interstate 80 near Mokena in Frankfort Township and striking a wall, police said.
About 6 a.m. Thursday, troopers with Illinois State Police District 5 responded to a single-vehicle minor injury crash that occurred on westbound I-80 at Wolf Road near Mokena, according to the Illinois State Police.
Preliminary information indicated that a driver was traveling in the westbound left lane on I-80 when “for unknown reasons” the vehicle “veered to the right across all lanes and struck the wall on right shoulder,” police said.
“The driver was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries and was released,” police said.
At 6:20 a.m., the middle and right lanes were closed for the traffic crash investigation. At 6:32 a.m., all lanes were re-opened, police said.
