Lincoln-Way D210 to remain remote until Jan. 19

Lincoln-Way D210 will remain remote until Jan. 19.

Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 announced on Friday that it would remain in remote learning through Jan. 15, which follows NLSD122 which is following a similar model.

Superintendent Scott Tingley announced in a letter Friday afternoon that the decision comes after careful consideration.

"We know this decision will come with mixed reviews from students, staff, and the larger community," Tingley said in the letter.

The district has continued to note that the spread of the virus has occurred outside of school walls, the number of COVID-positive and quarantined individuals across the district has increased "dramatically" the last couple weeks.

The district wants a more consistent learning environment and the amount of students and staff quarantined has prevented that.

"It is our hope that this adaptive pause through January 15, 2021, will allow the community spread to subside and time for the community health metrics to improve in order to return to in-person learning on January 19."
