About Ken Thompson
Currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Lakeland University, Thompson earned an associate's degree in culinary arts in 1995 from The Culinary Institute of America in and a bachelor's degree in culinary arts management in 1996, also from The Culinary Institute of America.
Thompson, who began working in restaurants at age 15 washing dishes, has over 20 years experience working in restaurants and country clubs in Michigan, Georgia, Indiana and Tennessee.
He's served as an active member of L’Ecole Culinaire – Memphis Campus Program Advisory Committee, Cordova, Tennessee; a student coach for the culinary arts program at Kingsbury Vocational School, Memphis; and as an externship site chef for The Culinary Institute of America
Thompson also coached the culinary arts program at Kingsbury Vocational School, Memphis, during the school’s local, state and national competitions.
He is a certified executive chef and a certified culinary administrator from the American Culinary Federation. In 2016, he received the ACF Central Region Chef Professionalism Award.
