At St. Mary Immaculate School in Plainfield, the Red Ribbon Committee organized different themes

This helped students understand the negative consequences associated with drug usage and alcohol consumption.
Students read and signed off on a Red Ribbon Pledge. It read: "I pledge to grow up safe, healthy and drug free by: understanding the dangers of drug use and abuse, respecting myself and being drug free, and spreading the word to family and friends about the importance of being healthy and drug free." These pledges were hung up around the cross in the hallway.
The week culminated with the judging of the door contest. All classrooms created doors with slogans and artwork to stay drug free. The winner at each level won extra recess time.
