The Edward Foundation raised $447,000 at its 26th annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 15 at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont.
More than 300 golfers donated funds through sponsorships, donations, raffles and games. Dionne Miller, weekend sports anchor and reporter, ABC7 Eyewitness News, was the event’s celebrity guest.
The Foundation, the charitable fundraising organization of Edward Hospital, was established in 1990 and has raised more than $52.5 million in its mission to support Edward Hospital’s community health care initiatives.
The winning team on Cog Hill’s Dubsdread course included Steve Chirico, Kelly Keegan, Walker Moore and James Park. The winning team on Cog Hill’s Course #1 and #3 included Joshua Hickey, John Saletta, Brad Schulman and Ryan Yagoda.
The event featured a Helicopter Ball Drop in which entrants paid for a chance to have a numbered golf ball dropped from a helicopter and land closest to the flag. The winner was Tom Persin of Naperville.
The Foundation’s next major event and fundraiser, its 29th annual gala, The Big Gig: 1001 Nights, will be held Sept. 28 at The Westin Hotel in Lombard.
