In the grand scheme of things, 20 years isn’t really all that much time.
It might seem like forever when you’re young, but it passes in the blink of an eye and the city of Joliet doesn’t even have that long before it's supposed to run out of water.
Not that city leaders are taking this lying down. They went so far as to resurrect an inactive committee to study the pros and cons of various water sources, and then make a recommendation to the city council about where Joliet should get its water from in the future.
That’s a tall task and this commission, the Environmental Commission, is on the clock.
